BrainBlocks Wallet — OPEN BETA+ some preview gifs and a list of planned features

Today we are moving the BrainBlocks Nano wallet into open beta. We’ve been using the wallet ourselves for a couple of months already and ironing out issues as we come across them. We’ve also had about 50 early testers who have been a great help in finding bugs and making suggestions.
We’ve been working on the BrainBlocks Nano wallet — which is stage 1 of the larger BrainBlocks vision — for many months. It’s been hard at times, and it’s taken a lot longer than we expected, but we now have a framework on which the rest of the vision can be built.
What is the BrainBlocks wallet?
The new wallet in its current state is a replacement for NanoWallet.io, which will eventually be shut down and user accounts will be migrated. It is a Progressive Web App (PWA), which means it’s a website, but it can be installed as an app by saving it to your phone’s home screen. PWAs can do pretty much everything that apps can do including work offline and receive push notifications.
Right now, the wallet doesn’t have any killer features (other than a nice user-experience). But, now that the foundation is laid, we aim to rapidly add features and expand the capabilities of the platform. The major features we’re planning are (in no particular order):
- Push notifications for sends and receives from your accounts
- Internationalization (translating into various languages)
- Rebuilding our payment module to be fully integrated with the wallet (sneak peak)
- Supporting aliases for Nano addresses
- A contacts/address book
- Adding short messages to payments
- Send to an email address or generate a payment link (like NanoMate currently does)
- Stablecoin support and rule-based automatic conversions
Obviously, some of those are quite substantial and could take some time. We’re hoping to prioritize the list based on feedback from our users about what would be most valuable to them.
